Reede Somas

Reede Somas was a Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order who lived during the High Republic Era and was an old friend of Jedi Master Elzar Mann.^[2] In 229 BBY,^[1] Somas assisted a Republic Defense Coalition fleet in an assault on the Nihil pirates Stormwall. After the fleet destroyed a number of stormseeds, it created a breach, allowing Galactic Republic Longbeam cruisers and Somas piloting a Jedi Vector to make their to the Nihil Occlusion Zone. The breach did not last long as the stormwall began to repair itself and as the vessels made their way to the breached zone they exploded, including Somas' Vector, killing the Jedi Knight.^[2]

Behind the scenes

Reede Somas was initially the name of a Jedi Master who Marchion Ro would kill at the beginning of The High Republic: The Eye of Darkness, however it was later decided to kill Pra-Tre Veter and Somas became one of the Jedi who took part on the assault on the Stormwall.^[3]
