"It's a simple run. Stash a couple hundred bottles of R'alla mineral water in the Falcon's floor compartments, then smuggle the contraband to the clean-living people of Rampa II."
―Han Solo, Smuggler's Guide[1]

Rampa II, also known as Rampa, was an astronomical object in the Corporate Sector of the Outer Rim Territories, connected to Panna in the Cronese Mandate by the smugglers' hyperlane Bubble Wink. The former pirate Queen Maz Kanata marked it as a point of interest on a map she included in the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide.[1]

History

Between 10 BBY and 3 ABY,[3] Han Solo and Chewbacca worked with the Briil Twins to smuggle hundred bottles of R'alla mineral water to the people of Rampa II. Solo hoped that they'll earn enough to get them off the Red List and shake the debt collectors.[1]

Later, the pair were intercepted on the Rampa Rapids and imprisoned on Rampa II. Then the smuggler Sana Starros, who wished to claim the belongings of her husband Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca, bribed customs agent of the Rampa II Port Authority 373-CR, who approved Starros's merchandise claim form, allowing her to take the gear, which included the book known as the Smuggler's Guide, in which Starros wrote about bribing the agent.[1]

Behind the scenes

Rampa II was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, which was written by Daniel Wallace.[1] The Smuggler's Guide entry in which the world is mentioned primarily recounted the events depicted in the Legends novel Han Solo's Revenge, written by Brian Daley and released in 1979.[4]

  3. The entry in Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide that mentions 373-CR takes place after Han Solo has completed the Kessel Run, but before he encounters a bounty hunter on Ord Mantell, which is mentioned as having occurred prior to the Battle of Hoth in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide establishes that Solo completes the Kessel Run nine years after the Proclamation of the New Order, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 19 BBY, meaning Solo's Kessel Run must take place in 10 BBY. The Atlas also dates the Battle of Hoth to 3 ABY; therefore, the entry in the in-universe book Smuggler's Guide must have been written between 10 BBY and 3 ABY.
