- "No. You are staying here while my crew and I set out for Quence. Thanks to the Nihil's war with the Republic, the black-market price for medical supplies has skyrocketed. There is a shipment of rejuve headed there this week, which we're gonna steal. Then we are going to come right back here, where we will find you exactly where we left you. Do you understand?"
- ―Tanana Keem, to Zyle Keem aboard I'nah's cruiser
Quence was a terrestrial astronomical object in the Outer Rim Territories' Quence sector. In 229 BBY, the pirate Tanana Keem and her crew planned to execute a heist on Quence, with Keem leaving her child, Zyle Keem, behind due to how dangerous the endeavor was. The crew then successfully stole a shipment of rejuve while on the astronomical object and traveled to the Outer Rim planet Valo afterward to rendezvous with Zyle.
Description
Quence was a terrestrial astronomical object[4] located in Quence sector's Quence system in the Outer Rim Territories[3] and the Trailing Sectors.[2] It was situated in grid square O-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid. Quence was connected to[1] the planets[5][6] Yar Togna and Ribento via one hyperspace route, and also was the endpoint of another hyperspace route that connected it to[1] the planet[7] Nixus.[1] It shared its name with the Quence sector, an Outer Rim sector that shared the same coordinates in the Standard Galactic Grid.[3]
History
- "Listen up, everyone. Drrn and I will take the Grim Devourer II and head to Quence. Everyone else, you're on the Venomed Scabbard. We'll meet up after dropping out of hyperspace. Do not go in by yourselves. We don't want a repeat of what happened on Ryloth."
"Everybody here still has their arms. Was it really that bad?"
"See you all on Quence." - ―Tanana Keem and the pirate Coromont Vizzle
Zyle Keem (pictured) wanted to participate in the Quence heist, though Tanana Keem felt it would be too dangerous.
In 229 BBY,[8] a shipment of the rejuve healing substance was scheduled to be sent to Quence. Due to the ongoing conflict between the Nihil marauders and the Galactic Republic, the price of rejuve had sharply risen throughout the galaxy, prompting the pirate Tanana Keem and her crew to make plans to steal the shipment. Before departing for the heist, Keem left her child Zyle Keem aboard the Nihil captain I'nah's cruiser, despite the latter protesting and wishing to come on the raid, which they hoped would involve jumping on top of a hovertrain. However, Zyle eventually agreed to spy on the Nihil for their mother, lamenting that Tanana felt the Quence job was too dangerous for them. Tanana then instructed her crew to stay together during their upcoming heist on Quence, not wanting the situation to end similarly to the pirates' incident on[4] the Outer Rim planet[1] Ryloth.[4]
Afterward, Tanana and her crew left the Nihil vessel in their starships—the Venomed Scabbard and the Grim Devourer II—and jumped to hyperspace to reach Quence. The crew then reconvened after leaving hyperspace and started the raid, with their crew member Therm Scissorpunch losing a pincer in the process. The group managed to steal the shipment of rejuve they had been after, leaving the astronomical object with some additional cargo as well. Following the heist's completion, Tanana contacted Zyle and informed them of the raid's completion, despite the mother's disappointment that her child had left the Nihil cruiser and traveled to the Outer Rim planet Valo. After the crew met Zyle on Valo, Tanana elaborated on the group's time on Quence to inform her child about how it had gone.[4]
