- "Oh, my, my, my. Look at that. A little pta fruit. Already half squished."
- ―Mon Mothma reveals a pta fruit
Pta fruit was a type of seed fruit that was dark orange in color. The inside of a pta fruit was filled with brown, sticky sap, which was also where its seeds were located. The fruit was not allowed on the planet Nakadia and was considered an invasive species.[1] In 5 ABY,[2] when the New Republic Chancellor Mon Mothma traveled to Nakadia alongside her political opponent Senator Tolwar Wartol, she purposefully brought along a pta fruit so as to delay their arrival to Nakadia. A short time later, when Wartol attempted to plant a bomb in Mothma's office on the planet Chandrila, he feigned that his visit was in order to bring Mothma a gift, presenting a basket of pta fruit in reference to their earlier interaction. When Sinjir Rath Velus discovered Wartol attempting to remotely detonate the bomb, he fought the Senator, throwing a pta fruit at him. Wartol's plot failed to kill Mothma, but did result in the death of Mothma's advisor Auxi Kray Korbin. Wartol would be arrested for the crime.[1]
