Prefects were officials in the Galactic Empire with control over territory. The title did not carry extra pay on its own and simply existed to signify leadership.[2] Kosh, an Imperial Army officer from Tatooine, eventually became a prefect.[1] Captain Vanis Tigo, commanding officer of the Ferrix garrison, was promoted to prefect[3] after requesting the title.[2]
