- "No one deserved to be sent to Praktin or Blacktar Cyst."
- ―Philap Bygar, to Micha Evon and his colleagues
Praktin was located in an eponymous star system in the Thusa sector[1] within the New Territories portion[2] of the Mid Rim Territories, situated in grid square O-7 Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry was sent there during the Galactic Civil War. The Alliance General Philap Bygar acknowledged the deployment[3] in 3 ABY[4] when meeting the 61st's captain, Micha Evon, the former Imperial governor Everi Chalis, and their escort at a rebel base on the planet Hoth. The general told them that he believed that no one deserved to be sent to Praktin or Blacktar Cyst, a terrestrial astronomical object where the 61st had also been sent before.[3]
Behind the scenes
Praktin was mentioned in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, written by Alexander Freed.[3]
