A power regulator was a component that could be added to a VM-19 heavy blaster pistol.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] the pirate Hondo Ohnaka stole a prototype power regulator from the Rokana Raiders that would push ion circuits beyond their designed limits. He later gave the item to Kay Vess after they escaped the raider's base in the Khepi Tomb who used it upgrade her blaster pistol.[1]
Behind the scenes
Power regulator first appeared in canon continuity in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] It was mentioned as the main component of the "Ion Shock Kit" blaster upgrade part that players are awarded for completing the "Brave the Unknown" quest.[1] Power regulators were introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity as a component used in turbolasers and landspeeder engines in the 1996 The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels reference book by Bill Smith.[4]
