"Once installed, this conductor will let you release a powerful explosive bolt. You can use the workbench to build the module."
―ND-5, to Kay Vess[1]

A power module was a type of blaster module that allowed a blaster to fire a powerful explosive bolt capable of damaging walls.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] Vess constructed a power module for her VM-19 blaster pistol after she was given the require parts by ND-5, a BX-series droid commando and enforcer.[1]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars Outlaws. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon.

During the same year,[2] Vess constructed two additional power modules after receiving a sonic oscillator from the Chadra-Fan explosive expert Ank Parako and a particle transmuter from the Twi'lek rebel Asara Deyn. The sonic oscillator caused its blaster bolts to detonate on impact and the particle transmuter dealt more damage the longer it was charged.[1]

Behind the scenes

Several types of power modules appeared in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws which was developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[1] Prior to the game's release, its blaster modules appeared in a number of the game's trailer's; first appearing in the game's "Official Game Overview Trailer" which was released on June 10, 2024.[3] It was first identified as a "power module" in the "All the Star Wars Lore, Details & Easter Eggs" released the same day as the "Official Game Overview Trailer".[4]

As part of the game's main quests player is required to construct the bolt power module after completing the first of either "The Heavy", "The Safecracker" or "The Droidsmith" quests. Players will unlock the key parts in order to construct the other modules by completing main quests but they are not required to actually construct these to complete the game's story.[1] Concept artist for the game's power modules was done by the Concept Artist Kamil Haddad under Art Director Benedikt Podlesnigg with the in–game model being created by Jakub Mrówczyński.[5]
