- "Did they teach you Plan 72?"
"Mm-hmm. Tech had me memorize all the plans."
"Of course he did." - ―Crosshair, to Omega
Plan 72 was a code phrase that was utilized by Clone Force 99. The clones Crosshair and Omega utilized Plan 72 during their escape from the Galactic Empire's Tantiss Base in around 18 BBY.
Description
Plan 72 was a code phrase that was utilized by Clone Force 99, which referred to a situation in which one individual would distract the enemy and allow another member an opportunity to accomplish something.[1]
History
In around 18 BBY,[2] during their escape from the Galactic Empire's Tantiss Base on the[1] planet Wayland,[3] the clones Omega and Crosshair had made it into the forests of Mount Tantiss and located the crash site of an Imperial shuttle, hoping to use its communication systems to contact their squad. However, when the comms system did not work and a group of Imperial forces arrived in a Rho-class transport shuttle, Crosshair made a new plan. He asked Omega if she knew Plan 72, and when Omega confirmed that their companion Tech had made her memorize it, she and Crosshair split up. When a TK stormtrooper squad landed at their location, Crosshair distracted the stormtroopers while Omega hijacked the newly arrived shuttle with the help of the lurca hound Batcher, whom she had released from Imperial captivity earlier. Omega, Crosshair, and Batcher successfully commandeered the shuttle and fled Wayland.[1]
Behind the scenes
Plan 72 appeared in "Shadows of Tantiss,"[1] the third episode of the third season of the animated television series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The episode premiered on February 21, 2024.[4]

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Per the reasoning here, Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch takes place around 18 BBY. The tally marks made by Omega in The Bad Batch Season 3's first episode, "Confined," indicate the episode must take place at least twenty-one standard days following her capture as depicted in the Season 2 episode "Plan 99." According to
