Lurca hounds were a species of dog on the planet Wayland. They had gray skin, and the sclera of their eyes was red while their pupils were blue.[2] Lurcas had bony frills protruding from their noses—which were snubbed—and were muscular. While members of the species were not usually domesticated,[3] one member of the species, Batcher, was—by the clone Omega.[2] The remainder of the lurca hounds kept by the Galactic Empire were controlled via behavioral collars that influenced their movements and behaviors.[3]

Behind the scenes

Lurca hounds first appeared in "Confined,"[2] the first episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch's third season, which premiered on February 21, 2024.[5]
