- "I miss my mum's pilafa stew."
- ―Bly Tevin, to Thylefire Squadron
Pilafa stew was a type of stew that could be found on the Outer Rim planet E'ronoh.[1] By 382 BBY,[2] the mother of the E'roni pilot Bly Tevin made the stew for her son, which he enjoyed. Due to the shortage of food on E'ronoh during the Eiram and E'ronoh War, she began making her soup thinner to stretch rations.[1]
When Tevin enlisted in E'ronoh's fleet and began flying with Thylefire Squadron, his mother promised to make a fresh batch of pilafa stew for when he was on leave. While on a supply escort mission[1] that year,[2] Tevin remarked on his preference for the dish to his colleagues. Shortly afterward, he remembered his mother's promise to cook more of the stew when he returned home and reminisced about how he had enlisted to fight for his family.[1]
Behind the scenes
Pilafa stew was mentioned in Convergence, a novel written by Zoraida Córdova as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II[1] that was published on November 22, 2022. Prior to its release, a mention of the stew was included in a StarWars.com preview for the novel on October 4 of that year.[3]
