- "Logbook contains numerous instances of such, earning it a restricted literature rating of Class 4"
- ―Shrove fills in the objectionable content box on the strongbox's intake form
Paramiah Shrove was an agent of the Galactic Empire's Commission for the Preservation of the New Order who confiscated a spacer's strongbox in the Chorlian sector of the Outer Rim Territories. The box contained document scraps, miscellaneous acreditations, and the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide, which contained a variety of notes and entries by criminals. Shrove gave the book a Class 4 literature rating for its contents and made a note of such in the objectionable content field of the strongbox's Imperial Boarding Inspection and Customs intake form.[1]
The strongbox was scanned by a DD-13 medical assistant droid on Vyndal Station that returned negative for foreign contaminants. Chief Imperial Inspector Lieutenant Hedge Devlin then completed the intake form and marked for it to be returned to sender, being concerned only with confiscating spice and not questionable literature. Devlin left a note on the form criticising Shrove and comparing the agent to a gorm-worm.[1]
Behind the scenes
Paramiah Shrove was first mentioned on a supplemental item included in the deluxe edition of the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, which was written by Daniel Wallace.[1]
