- "Two weeks ago, our spies uncovered a Tibanna mining operation in the Pantrosian Eye. It's how the Empire was able to increase its blaster production rate over the past year."
- ―Micha Evon, to Hazram Namir
The Pantrosian Eye was located in the Mid Rim Territories' Endocray sector. The Galactic Empire mined tibanna gas there in the year leading up to 3 ABY. Information on the operation was separately given to the rival Rebel Alliance by some of its spies and the Imperial defector Everi Chalis.
Description
The Pantrosian Eye[3] was located in an eponymous system[1] within the Slice[2] portion of the Mid Rim Territories. It was situated within the Endocray sector in the grid square R-14 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The Pantrosian Eye contained tibanna gas.[3]
History
- "Chalis couldn't have known we knew about it… but it's there, in her masterpiece."
"So it's useful. What does it mean for us?" - ―Micha Evon and Hazram Namir discuss Everi Chalis's knowledge of the Pantrosian Eye mining operation
Everi Chalis knew about the mining in the Pantrosian Eye.
During the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, the Empire conducted a tibanna mining operation in the Pantrosian Eye, which increased blaster production over the year leading up to[3] 3 ABY. That year,[4] Alliance spies uncovered the operation, which was brought to the attention of the Alliance High Command.[3]
Respectively, Everi Chalis—an Imperial governor who had defected to the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry—listed the operation in the Pantrosian Eye on a schematic of the military and industrial biology of the Empire for the company's captain, Micha Evon. When Evon crosschecked Chalis's information on the schematic with[3] General Baccam Grafis[5] of the High Command, he was given confirmation that the mining operation had indeed already been discovered two weeks before. Shortly after, Evon informed First Sergeant Hazram Namir about this while showing the schematic to the soldier.[3]
