The Pantolomin system was located within the Core Worlds[1] and the Interior regions'[2] Dolomar sector.[3] Situated in grid square K-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid, the system was connected[1] by the Namadii Corridor[4] hyperspace route to the nearby astronomical object Borleias and[1] the planet[5] Coruscant.[1] Pantolomin cruisers, a type of luxury cruiser utilized by the Black Sun crime syndicate,[6] originated from the Pantolomin system.[7]
Behind the scenes
The Pantolomin system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 boxed set in Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying series of products.[1] It was later identified as the "Pantolomin system" in "Star Systems of the Galaxy,"[3] an appendix accompanying the Star Wars Galaxy Map, an article on StarWars.com featuring a map of the galaxy.[8] Both works were authored by Jason Fry and posted on June 24, 2025.[9]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Panto system was first mentioned in the Dark Force Rising Sourcebook, authored by Bill Slavicsek for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and published in 1993. Dark Force Rising Sourcebook placed the planet Pantolomin in the system,[10] a world that first appeared in Dark Force Rising, the second entry in the Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy of novels by Timothy Zahn, released in 1992, thus marking the system's first appearance.[11]

Jason Fry (@jasoncfry.bsky.social.) on Bluesky (post on January 3, 2025): "They are indeed the same. Same galaxy, same map. In the rare event something needs to be changed, it will be discussed. (In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Pantolomin cruisers in relation to Pantolomin system.
