- "Is it kyber?"
"No. I got it on Palek. The Palekians use them to meditate." - ―Dooku and Sifo-Dyas
Palek[3] was an astronomical object inhabited by the Palekians and known for its hyperstorms.[2] It was located in the Palek system, a star system in the Cyrillian Protectorate in the Expansion Region in grid square O-12 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] In 85 BBY,[4] the Jedi Padawan Sifo-Dyas visited Palek with his Master Lene Kostana, witnessing a hyperstorm and acquiring a crystal that appeared similar to kyber, which he gave to his friend Dooku upon returning to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.[2]
Behind the scenes
Palek was mentioned in the audiobook Dooku: Jedi Lost, written by Cavan Scott and published in 2019.[2] The spelling of Palek's name was given in the script of the audiobook.[3]
