The Overic Griplink was a hyperspace route that ran north from the planet Mon Cala in the Calamari sector to the planet Quermia,[1] both of which were in the Slice portion[2] of the Outer Rim Territories.[3] At Quermia, it intersected the Perlemian Trade Route, which travelers could transfer onto to travel directly into the galaxy's interior, including the planet Coruscant. It was one of the closest major trade routes to the planet Atollon in the Lothal sector, which was located south of the route.[1]
Between 5 BBY and 4 BBY,[4] a classified document prepared by General Davits Draven for Senator Mon Mothma of the Alliance to Restore the Republic listed the Mon Cal resistance group as operating in Mon Calamari space near the Overic Griplink.[5]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Overic Griplink was first mentioned in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, which was written by Daniel Wallace.[5] The route originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Wallace and Jason Fry.[6]
