Oshiran sapphires were a type of blue sapphire[2] that originated from[1] the Mid Rim's[3] Oshira system.[1] By the time of the war between the First Order and the Resistance, the Ithorian collector Dok-Ondar kept several of the sapphires stored in a glass case within his antiquities store on the Outer Rim planet Batuu.[2] In 34 BBY,[4] the farmer Julen Rakab used the reflection from Dok-Ondar's Oshiran sapphire case in lieu of a mirror to check his appearance.[2]
Behind the scenes
Oshiran sapphires appeared in A Crash of Fate, a 2019 young-adult novel written by Zoraida Córdova.[2]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Oshiran sapphire in relation to Oshira system.
