- "I don't believe the Tenloss Syndicate knows that Ororo is trying to take over our spice operations in that sector."
- ―Xizor
Ororo Transportation was a semi-legitimate shipping company. It was actually a member of the criminal Tenloss Syndicate, posing as its business partner.[1][3]
Its chief operating officer was Tuyay, its chief of security was Dellis Yuls, and its chief financial officer was Z. Limmer.
Vergesso Base was a shadowport controlled by Ororo. Nim Zanti was an Ororo lieutenant assigned to the Base during the Galactic Civil War.[3]
The Alliance to Restore the Republic was concerned about cooperating with Ororo and using its smuggling base. However the Alliance was desperate for any outside assistance, such as the facilities the Base provided; after a quick investigation they discovered only a buisness connection to Tenloss, and proceeded to the uneasy alliance.[3]
Nobody knew that Tenloss sometimes used the base as a slave transfer point, and Ororo did not want to lose the alliance with the Rebels should this operation was uncovered.[3] Ororo was ready to send Natori guards (another front of Tenloss, providing security to the base) to execute any slavers discovered, essentially as a punishment for their incompetence. Publicly, Ororo would pretend that the slavery incident was isolated, and temporarily halt the operations, feigning tighter security to "prevent" this.[4]
Ororo was a competitor of Xizor Transport Systems, secretly trying to take over Black Sun's spice operations in the Bajic sector. This incurred Xizor's wrath as he had his aide Guri murder Ororo's top executives while he convinced Emperor Palpatine to destroy an Ororo shipyard by telling the Emperor that it was a Rebel base (a claim that was at least partially true as the shipyard housed hundreds of rebel ships and a number of X-wings), dealing a severe financial blow to Ororo as punishment.
