"But before the gatekeeper droids failed, they caught this little scoundrel, messing around our portcullis."
―Od Keder — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[2]

Od Keder was a Jedi Padawan of the Jedi Order who was stationed at the Jedi temple on the planet Olega during the High Republic Era. In 132 BBY, the assassin Mae-ho Aniseya broke in to the temple in a failed attempt to kill Jedi Master Torbin. The next day, while Jedi Master Cord Taunus spoke about the break-in to a team led by Jedi Master Sol, the Padawan brought out the urchin Guthan Archi, who had been caught around the temple's portcullis. As the urchin struggled, Keder told him to stop squirming. Keder then went with the group to Torbin's quarters, where they found him dead. Keder later surveilled a nearby apothecary, and after seeing Mae-ho's supplier Qimir enter, he informed the other Jedi that he was not the regular owner.

Od Keder was a human Jedi Padawan of the Jedi Order who was stationed at the Jedi temple on the planet Olega during the High Republic Era. Keder was well known among the Olegans that bordered the temple, who had seen him grow up in the neighborhood and considered him one of their own.[1] By 132 BBY,[3] Keder was fast approaching his time to undergo his Jedi Trials.[1]

That year,[3] the assassin Mae-ho Aniseya broke into the temple and attempted to kill Jedi Master Torbin. The next day, a team led by Jedi Master Sol arrived at the temple to investigate the break-in. As Jedi Master[2] Cord Taunus[1] explained to them what had happened, Keder brought out the urchin[2] Guthan Archi[1] and informed the other Jedi that[2] he[1] had been caught messing around the temple's portcullis by the temple's gatekeeper droids before they failed. As the urchin struggled to escape Keder's grip, he told him to stop squirming. Padawan Jecki Lon then knelt and spoke with Archi, who confirmed he had been paid to activate the security droid, though he misidentified Mae-ho's twin Verosha Aniseya as the individual who had paid him.[2]

Investigating a murder

"Is this the only apothecary in town?"
"It is, but…that's not our regular guy. I don't know who that guy is."

Sol then asked to speak with Torbin, and Taunus led the group through the temple to his quarters. Before they arrived, Mae-ho returned and offered poison to Torbin, which he willingly drank to atone for his role in an incident that had occurred sixteen years earlier. After Torbin died and Mae-ho fled, Verosha arrived in the room ahead of the rest of the group. Keder then arrived with the other Jedi, and Taunus aimed his lightsaber at Verosha, commanding her to step away from Torbin's body, though Jedi Knight Yord Fandar soon confirmed that Torbin had been dead before she arrived. Keder remained standing behind Taunus while Sol, Lon, and Verosha examined Torbin's body and eventually determined that he had willingly taken the poison, which Verosha identified as bunta from her homeworld of Brendok.[2]

Later, Keder stood on a balcony with Sol's team and used macrobinoculars to look at an apothecary across the street. Verosha explained that bunta's effects did not last long, meaning it must have come from nearby, then asked if the apothecary was the only one in the town. Keder confirmed that it was, but upon seeing Mae-ho's supplier, Qimir, enter, he noted he was not the regular owner and that he did not recognize him. Keder remained silent as the other Jedi discussed their next steps, eventually deciding to send Verosha into the apothecary disguised as her sister to obtain a confession. After hearing Qimir admit to giving Verosha the poison while listening to their conversation, the Jedi began to move to pull her out, but stopped when ordered by Sol. After briefly listening more, Sol, Fandar, and Lon entered the apothecary, where they learned that Mae-ho would return that night.[2]
