The Nute hive was the most influential hive-family on the Neimoidian homeworld of Neimoidia. They adopted a Neimoidian known as Gunray, who acquired their clan name of Nute. He quickly rose to the top of each successive corporate level of the family, with some of his textbook examples of double-dealing being taught at Nute hive seminars for years after.[1] In the year 33 BBY,[2] the Sith Lord Darth Sidious gave Gunray inside information about a Neimoidian business rival[3] who posed the greatest threat to his supremacy in the hive clan, whom he quickly disposed of his thereafter.[1]
