Nitrogen (N)[1] was an elemental gas that commonly composed the atmospheres of many planets and moons, including, but not limited to, Echnos and Tyed Kant.
Although essential for life for many beings such as Humans, it was harmful to breathe for some species. Liquid nitrogen was very cold.
Imperial Star Destroyers flooded key equipment compartments with a nitrogen-carbon dioxide mix before going into battle.[1]
