Mytag crystals were synthetic crystals used in ancient communication and scanning technology. Xim the Despot had a large stockpile of these crystals among other war materials, such as beam tubes and kiirium ingots. In Xim's day, these represented the pinnacle of military technology and were invaluable; however, by 1 BBY, advances in technology had made them obsolete and worthless.[1]
Xim's vast treasure horde was the stuff of galactic legend, said to have been loaded aboard his ship, the Queen of Ranroon, which was subsequently lost in Hyperspace. Generations of treasure hunters sought it out, until 1 BBY when a group that included smuggler Han Solo and the Ruurian historian S. V. Skynx discovered the horde in the Treasure Vaults of Xim the Despot. Solo was disappointed to learn the treasure was now worthless, though Skynx was ecstatic about the find's historical value.[1]
The Ark of Baron Auletphant was inlaid with rose and azure mytag crystals.[2]
