Behind the scenes

Mytag crystal first appeared in the new Star Wars canon in the 2018 anthology film Solo: A Star Wars Story.^[2] It was identified in the accompanying reference guide Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, written by Pablo Hidalgo.^[1] The crystal originates in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was introduced in Brian Daley's novel Han Solo and the Lost Legacy, published in 1980. In the book, they were a powerful energy source stockpiled by Xim the Despot.^[3]
