Moon moths were a type of moth with white wings that were found on[1] the forest moon[2] of Endor[1] in the Outer Rim Territories.[2] When describing the mythical kroolok to a group of young Ewoks during a particularly bleak winter on Endor[1] between 1 BBY and 4 ABY,[3] the shaman Logray described the beast's teeth as being as white as a moon moth's wings.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the new Star Wars canon, a moon moth was mentioned in "The Kroolok," a short story written by Cavan Scott and George Mann and published in the Life Day Treasury anthology in 2021.[1] The creatures originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in the 1995 novel Darksaber, by Kevin J. Anderson.[4]

"One Normal Day" depicts Wicket Wystri Warrick as no longer being a wokling and takes place and occurs concurrent with the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which Timelines dates to 4 ABY. As "The Kroolok" depicts Logray as a shaman and Warrick as a wokling, it must take place between these two dates.
