In 9 BBY,^[2] Jedi Knight Cal Kestis took a mission to the Shattered Moon of the planet Koboh to investigate Dagan Gera, a High Republic Era Jedi Knight who Kestis had encountered at the Forest Array on Koboh. Kestis went to the moon after visiting The Archive on the moon Jedha, where Jedi Master Eno Cordova discovered that Gera had visited the Shattered Moon in the records. Kestis also hoped to learn more about Tanalorr, a planet Gera was obsessed with hidden in the Koboh Abyss. When Kestis arrived, he discovered that the moon was overrun with Bedlam Raiders and their battle droids, who were allied with Gera, and suspected that they were protecting something on the moon. After discovering an Abyss compass there, which he learned were used by Gera to reach Tanalorr, Kestis was confronted by the lightsaber-wielding raider Drya Thornne, who he bested in a lightsaber duel. Kestis then took Thornne's lightsaber's crossguard emitter for his own lightsaber.^[1]
