"Let this be a reminder of what happens when you cross the Bedlam Raiders."
Rayvis, to Turgle[1]

The Bedlam Raiders were a group of marauders based on the planet Koboh during the Imperial Era, although they shared their name[1] with the mysterious planet Bedlam.[3] They were led by the Gen'Dai Rayvis and the fallen Jedi Dagan Gera.[1]

The Bedlam Raiders were originally formed of many disparate bands of bandits and guns-for-hire, brought together by the Gen'Dai Rayvis through violence and persuasive diplomacy. With an army of battle droids under their control, the Bedlam Raiders were a powerful group of marauders with a lot of firepower and feared by the inhabitants of the planet Koboh. Many lieutenants of the Bedlam Raiders were given lightsabers by Rayvis, who collected several from the Jedi he killed. Due to their great power and many resources, aided by Koboh's little importance to the Galactic Empire, the Bedlam Raiders were able to impose their will on the planet without facing much opposition.[1]

Claiming a droid army

"The Raider base is in the swamp. They gutted an old Lucrehulk battleship from the Clone Wars."
"We've seen it. Means they've got a lot of firepower.

As of 9 BBY, the Bedlam Raiders' main base of operations was a crashed core ship of a Lucrehulk-class LH-3210 cargo freighter, Primacy, on Koboh, although they also had a presence on the planet's Shattered Moon. The raiders commanded an army of B1-series battle droids, B2-series super battle droids, BX-series droid commandos, droidekas, IG-100 MagnaGuards, vulture droids, and HMP droid gunships in stasis, from the Clone Wars.[1]

In 9 BBY,[4] surviving Jedi Knight Cal Kestis crash-landed on Koboh and quickly learned about the nearby Koboh Abyss and its potential access to Tanalorr, which seemed like a perfect safe haven for fugitives from the Galactic Empire. In his quest to find a passage through the deadly nebula Koboh Abyss, Cal decimated the Bedlam Raiders and killed Rayvis, as well as the fallen Jedi Dagan Gera, whom Rayvis served and took command of after the Gen'Dai's death.

An alliance for revenge

"Have the Bedlam Raiders been cleared out?"
"Actually, this is the fun part. Sorc's champion has cut a deal with what's left of the Raiders."
"They're working together? That's not good."
"
All to bag you."
―Cal Kestis and Caij Vanda[1]

Soon after, the surviving Bedlam Raiders and their remaining battle droids allied with Jo the Cannibal and the Haxion Brood to kill Cal and avenge their leaders, but Cal succeeded in killing them all, including Jo. Although it already had a presence on Koboh, the Empire avoided the planet, as it thought the world was not valuable enough to justify facing the might of the Raiders, but the power vacuum resulting from their decimation was quickly filled by the Empire, which increased its military presence on the planet.[1]
