- "I led the three of them, the Jedi slung between Milan Stor and Rox, to the Leveler."
- ―Marda Ro, in her journal
Milan Stor was a human member of the Path of the Open Hand cult. When the Path met its violent end on the planet Dalna in 382 BBY, Stor was unaware of the events as they were spreading the Path's teachings across the Galactic Frontier at the time. At some point between the event and around 381 BBY they were among the Path members tracked down by the Marda Ro—another former member of the Path—who invited them to join her marauder band. Stor was one of the few who accepted the offer.
They were introduced to a beast known as the Great Leveler by Ro after they joined the group. Stor worked alongside the Twi'lek Fori Nagor and the pair used Nagor's ship for theft and smuggling. Around 379 BBY, Stor was aboard Ro's starship, the Gaze Electric, where they assisted in feeding the Leveler a Jedi that Ro had assaulted and brought back to the ship. Stor and Nagor occasionally worked together with the Kessurian partners Esstrop and Kortanio on larger raids, such as one at some point no earlier than 379 BBY. During the raid they captured refugees, which enraged Ro, and she ordered them to set the refugees free.
Biography
Path of the Open Hand and joining Marda Ro
- "I have collected some scattered members of the Path of the Open Hand, those who never knew the Closed Fist."
- ―Marda Ro, in her journal
Milan Stor was a human who became a member of the cult known as the Path of the Open Hand[1] at some point no later than 382 BBY.[2] In their service to the Path, they ventured out into the Galactic Frontier to preach its teachings and as a result were away from[1] the cult's home planet[3] Dalna when the group's fall took place during[1] the Night of Sorrow in 382 BBY.[3] Unaware that the Path was no more, they carried on serving the cult. At some point between the Path's collapse and around 381 BBY,[4] they were among the few scattered members of the Path tracked down by Marda Ro—a former member of the cult.[1] She[5] told them a false story about how the Path ended and offered them the choice of either joining her band of pirates[1]—who would eventually become the Nihil[6]—or stopping any Path activity. Stor was among the few who chose to join Ro.[1]
Ro showed Milan Stor the Great Leveler (pictured).
After Stor joined the group, Ro took them to her ship, the Gaze Electric. There, she presented the Great Leveler—a monster that fed on the Living Force—to them. Ro explained that they were now the Leveler's caretakers and had to watch over it so that in the future it could consume those that abused the Force. She also added that the group had no story to tell the galaxy or a shared religion, and that the only important thing was survival.[1]
In service to Ro, Stor worked alongside the Twi'lek Fori Nagor and the two would use Nagor's ship to find opportunities for theft and smuggling. Occasionally, they would work alongside the Kessurian partners Esstrop and Kortanio and carried out larger raids.[1]
Service to Ro
- "Milan and Fori work together, taking Fori's ship in different directions to find smuggling work, or more often opportunities for simple theft."
- ―Marda Ro, in her journal
Around 379 BBY,[7] Stor was aboard the Gaze Electric when Ro returned to the ship aboard a shuttle with a highly injured Jedi in the shuttle's hold. As instructed by Ro, they entered the shuttle once it landed, accompanied by Rox and Alirya—other subordinates of Ro's. Upon entering, Stor and the others noticed the Jedi's body and stared at it. Ro ordered them to take the Jedi and led them to the Gaze's medical observation room where the Great Leveler was caged.[1]
Milan Stor initially watched as the Jedi perished aboard the Gaze Electric (pictured).
Stor and Rox dragged the Jedi there and Rox dropped him next to a containment shield. Ro turned the shield off, freeing the Leveler and allowing it to feast on the Jedi. The Leveler turned him into a stone-like husk and, while Ro watched the whole process, Stor eventually looked away. Afterward, Ro headed to her throne hall, while Stor went to set the Gaze's next course, which Alirya informed Ro about after visiting her in the throne hall.[1]
At some point no earlier than 379 BBY,[8] Stor, Nagor, Esstrop and Kortanio raided a camp of refugees and took the refugees themselves as they had no possessions for the pirates to steal. Once they had returned to the Gaze Electric, Nagor presented the refugees to Ro, who was enraged at their actions. She commanded Nagor to set the refugees free with the exception of a Force-sensitive green-skinned man whom Ro took to the Great Leveler.[1]
Legacy
- "It is important to say their names to you. They will be dead, but they came before you. It matters to know who spins around, who is buffeted against the edges of our—our—"
- ―Marda Ro, in her journal
Later, Stor was mentioned by Ro in a message she recorded for her descendants, where she stressed the importance of passing on their name.[1] By 252 BBY,[9] during his youth, Ro's great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to her journal, including the messages where Stor was mentioned.[5]
Skills and abilities
- "A better pilot than me, but not for long."
- ―Marda Ro, in her journal
At the time Ro recorded one of the entries in her chronicles, she stated Stor was a better pilot than her, however she expected that to change soon.[1]

Milan Stor appeared in a flashback in the short story "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," written by Tessa Gratton and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[1]

- ↑ The High Republic: Quest for Planet X establishes that the Path of the Open Hand dissolved in the aftermath of the Night of Sorrow, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 382 BBY. Therefore, Stor must have become a member of the Path at some point no later than 382 BBY.

- ↑ "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" establishes that Marda Ro visited Dantooine around a year after taking possession of the Gaze Electric, an event that Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia dates to 382 BBY. Therefore, Ro's trip to Dantooine must have occurred around 381 BBY. Milan Stor was recruited by Marda Ro into her group of pirates prior to her visit to Dantooine. Therefore, Ro must have recruited them no later than around 381 BBY.

- ↑ "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" establishes that the section depicting the Jedi's death aboard the Gaze Electric takes place when Marda Ro is roughly eighteen years old. The High Republic: Path of Deceit, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia dates the events of to 382 BBY, establishes both that members of the Path of the Open Hand receive full membership at the age of fifteen and that Ro had recently become a full member, meaning that she is around fifteen years old. Therefore, the section of "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" depicting the Jedi's death must take place around 379 BBY.
- ↑ The segment of "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" depicting a Jedi's death onboard the Gaze Electric takes place around 379 BBY per the reasoning here. The raid in which the green-skinned man and other refugees were captured by Marda Ro's raiders occurs after the Jedi's death; therefore, it must have taken place no earlier than 379 BBY.
- ↑ "The Lie" chapter in The High Republic: Eye of the Storm 1, which includes Shalla Ro's death, features Asgar Ro's ascension to Eye of the Nihil, an event dated to 252 BBY by Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia. As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force establishes she introduced Marchion Ro to Marda Ro's journal, he must have listened to it by that year.
