- "After a rash of piracy along the Metellos Trade Route, the route leading to Coruscant, landed on Divo's scanners, he put out an interdivisional call for any information regarding Weequay raiders, based on what scant evidence there was. A torrent of reports flooded his receptacle, with one name constantly popping up: Hondo Ohnaka."
- ―Exantor Divo, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious
The Metellos Trade Route was a Core Worlds hyperspace route that ran from the N'zoth system to the planet Coruscant, which acted as a junction to many other routes including the Corellian Run and the Perlemian Trade Route. In 7957 C.R.C., Coruscant Security Force Inspector Tanivos Divo investigated a rash of pirate activity taking place along the route.
Description
The Metellos Trade Route was a hyperspace route[5] in the Core Worlds[1] and the Interior.[2] One terminus was at the N'zoth system[1] in the Koornacht Cluster,[4] which the route linked to the Cal-Seti system[1] in the Torranix sector[4] before leading to Coruscant,[5] a planet in the Corusca sector's Coruscant system.[3] Coruscant acted as a junction onto the Corellian Run, Perlemian Trade Route,[6] Koros Trunk Line,[7] Stassia Alley,[10] Nexus Route,[9] and Namadii Corridor routes.[8] The route shared its name[5] with the Core Worlds planet Metellos.[7]
History
The name of Hondo Ohnaka (pictured) came up during Tanivos Divo's investigation of piracy on the Metellos Trade Route.
In 7957 C.R.C., Coruscant Security Force Inspector Tanivos Divo learned of a rash of pirate activity taking place along the Metellos Trade Route but uncovered little evidence. Based on what he had, Divo put out an interdivisional call for information on Weequay raiders and received a large volume of responses, with many mentioning the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka of the Ohnaka Gang. Divo's grandson, Exantor Divo, later mentioned Divo's investigation relating to the route in his book, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious,[5] which he published in 34 ABY.[11]
Also in 34 ABY,[12] the Metellos Trade Route was included on a partial map of the galaxy displayed on screens aboard Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon while it traveled from the Core Worlds' Chandrila system to the Outer Rim Territories.[13]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Metellos Trade Route was first pictured on a map of the galaxy included in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying set published by Fantasy Flight Games.[6] It was then identified in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[5]
The route then appeared in-universe for the first time when it was depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida[13] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022,[14] and had its final voyage from September 28 to 30, 2023.[15] The route originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Coruscant and the Core Worlds, a 2003 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game published by Wizards of the Coast.[16]

As the publishing must have occurred between the time of the latest entries and the destruction of Hosnian Prime, it therefore also took place around 34 ABY.
