Meleenium was a metallic ore found in polymetallic nodules in the seas of the Western Reaches planet of Wadi Raffa. The active hydrothermal vents in the sea created deposits of meleenium and other ores, including doonium, dolovite, and kammris. The mining company Turlin/Benthic Extraction used hydraulic pumps to bring the ores to the surface for processing.[1] Meleenium was among the profitable cargoes recommended to fellow smugglers by Platt Okeefe in the pirate Maz Kanata's Smuggler's Guide, along with durelium, hyperbarides.[2]
