Description
A mega silo[3] was a type of structure used to store grain on the agricultural farm world Mina-Rau. Mega silos consisted of four arms of three storage tanks each that extended from a larger central cylinder.[1]
History
In 4 BBY,[4] the mechanics Bix Caleen, Wilmon Paak, and Brasso worked on a mega silo at Council 436. While finishing up the repair Caleen was approached by Lieutenant Krole who started a small conversation by mentioning the new silos at Council Six Hundred and how they were not worth the cost, adding that they would know for sure after the next harvest.[2] Later that year, Cassian Andor launched a missile at the same silo from a stolen TIE Avenger. The resulting damage caused grain to pour out and bury a number of Imperial stormtroopers who were shooting at Brasso while he was escaping their custody.[5]

Mega silos appeared in the first episode of the second season of the Disney+ live-action series Star Wars: Andor which was released[1] on April 22, 2025.[6] They were identified as mega silos by the English language audio descriptions of the episode.[3]
