Magnus Horn was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] in the Talcene sector's Magnus Horn system, within an intersecting portion of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice regions.[2] Situated at the coordinates Q-8 on the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] it was where the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry was decimated[3] sometime by the year 3 ABY.[4]
Following the decimation on Magnus Horn, the Alliance attempted to reassign the surviving troops, but Micha Evon, the 61st's captain, fought to keep the company together and saved it from obliteration. After Evon and a number of his officers were lost[3] in 3 ABY,[4] the soldier Hazram Namir compared the loss to the decimation on Magnus Horn, which he saw as a blow to the company. Magnus Horn and Evon's actions after were also recounted by a trooper of the 61st named Pol Andrissus in a conversation during the captain's funeral.[3]
