Lyco Strata was a male Force-sensitive human Jedi Padawan who survived Order 66. During the Imperial Era, Strata allied himself with the Dathomirian Asajj Ventress in a mission to get to the Path for safety.
Biography
During the Republic Era,[1] the Force-sensitive human Lyco Strata[3] served the Jedi Order as a Jedi Padawan. However, sometime following the end of the Clone Wars, Strata was hunted by the Galactic Empire as he became the target of an Inquisitor. While on the run from stormtroopers in a desert town, Strata attempted to use credits to purchase a ticket onto a ship, but was denied by Cort, the clerk. Strata then attempted to use a mind trick to convince the woman that it was enough for a ticket, though he failed. The Dathomirian Asajj Ventress—who noticed Strata's attempts at mind trick—told him to leave. Strata said that he had nowhere to go and that everyone he knew was dead, but Ventress only replied that the scenario was true for her as well. As she attempted to kick Strata out, Ventress noticed a group of stormtroopers outside and quickly changed her mind. Strata was directed to hide behind the counter as the troopers entered.[1]
Strata stayed hidden as Ventress successfully used the mind trick on the lead trooper, sending them to docking bay 24 instead of searching the premises. However, when Cort responded to the offer of a reward as the troopers began to leave, Ventress and Strata both drew their lightsabers and eliminated the troopers. Taking off, Strata was amazed to be in the presence of another Jedi, unaware that Ventress was a former Sith acolyte. As they ran, Strata asked Ventress how she had survived and who she was, although Ventress avoided the questions. The two continued to exchange words, though when Strata mentioned the Path—a Jedi-smuggling organization founded by the Jedi Quinlan Vos—she immediately grew an interest as Vos was once[1] her[4] one-time lover.[1]
Upon making their way away from Imperial forces. Ventress directed the Jedi to get on to the ship to get away safely. However, Strata sensed the presence of an Inquisitor, saying it was too late to escape. Ventress told Strata to go as she engaged the Inquisitor in a duel. While he initially went, Strata eventually returned to help Ventress. As he intervened, Strata was quickly kicked away by the Inquisitor. Ventress and the Inquisitor would continue their duel, with the Inquisitor gaining the upper hand and knocking Ventress down to the ground. Disarming her, the Inquisitor prepared the killing strike, but Strata, who recovered and grabbed both his lightsaber and his ally's, impaled the Inquisitor from the back using both blades.[1]
Powers and abilities
As a Jedi Padawan Lyco was trained in the ways of the Force. His training did not seemed to be complete as he was unable to perform the Mind trick and despite being a capable lightsaber duelist he was not able to help Asajj Ventress fight against an Imperial Inquisitor, and only killed him by attacking him while he was distracted.[1] He was skilled in deflecting blaster bolts and could perform basic telekinetic feats like pulling a blaster from an attacker's hands.[5] Lyco also possessed a great deal of knowledge about starships like the Venator-class Star Destroyer[3] and aside from Basic he was able to speak at least another unknown language.[5]
Equipment
Lyco always carried with himself his lightsaber.[1]
