"You don't fight like a Jedi."
―The Inquisitor, to Asajj Ventress[1]

A Force-sensitive male alien individual served the Galactic Empire as an Inquisitor. At some point the Inquisitor hunted the Jedi Padawan Lyco Strata, who had survived Order 66. During this hunt, he encountered former bounty hunter Asajj Ventress, who was protecting Strata, and the Inquisitor dueled Ventress, disarming her and knocking her onto the ground. However, before he could deliver the killing blow, he was stabbed in the back by Strata. The Inquisitor had black, ridged skin. He wore a suit of black body armor and cape, with a crested, visorless helmet that showed his orange eyes. The individual wielded a double-bladed spinning lightsaber with crimson blades.

Biography

Tracking a Padawan

"Too late. He's here."
―Lyco Strata[1]

The Inquisitor[1] was once a Jedi of the Jedi Order,[3] an organization of Force-users affiliated with the Galactic Republic.[4] At some point by around 18 BBY,[5] the individual joined the Galactic Empire's Inquisitorius,[1] an organization that hunted Jedi survivors of Order 66.[4] Like all Inquisitors,[3] he[1] was trained by[3] Dark Lord of the Sith[4] Darth Vader.[3] At some point, he became aware of the death of Asajj Ventress, former assassin for the Separatists[1] turned bounty hunter.[4]

The Inquisitor tracked Jedi Padawan Lyco Strata to a desert town on an astronomical object. There, he witnessed Strata sneak into a landing port along with Ventress, now retired and helping the[1] boy[2] evade Imperial stormtroopers. As Ventress urged Strata to go into hiding, the Padawan overheard blasters and a lightsaber in the distance. He informed Ventress it was too late because the man tracking him had arrived as the doorway into the port exploded. The Inquisitor entered and ignited a single blade of his double-bladed spinning lightsaber.[1]

Dueling a former Padawan

"I know who you are. You should've stayed dead."
―The Inquisitor, to Asajj Ventress[1]

Ventress stood between Strata and the Inquisitor, commanding the Padawan to flee on the boarding starship while she ignited her lightsaber. The two stared each other down as the Inquisitor paced before Ventress charged forward, swinging her blade. He blocked her attack and pushed her away. The two exchanged a few more blocks before the Inquisitor knocked Ventress away with a kick to her head. The two exchanged more swings before the Inquisitor grabbed Ventress's foot and flipped the former bounty hunter onto her back. Ventress rolled away to avoid a swing of the Inquisitor's lightsaber and used the Force to push him away. She leapt after him, but the Inquisitor recovered and caught her mid-air using the Force, tossing her into some boxes.[1]

As the Inquisitor approached a fallen Ventress, Strata emerged from the starship's entry ramp and leapt at the Jedi hunter with his lightsaber ignited, only for the Inquisitor to roundhouse kick the boy away. Ventress acquired Strata's loose lightsaber and reengaged the Inquisitors with both lightsabers. The Inquisitor and former assassin evaded and blocked each other's attacks until the Inquisitor pinned Ventress to a box, forcing her to use both sabers to hold back his blade. While pushing against her blades, the Inquisitor remarked how her fighting style did not feel Jedi-like. He then revealed that he recognized who she was and taunted that she should have stayed dead.[1]

Ventress broke the stalemate and slashed her lightsaber across the Inquisitor's face, scarring his cheek. The Inquisitor responded by igniting the second blade of his lightsaber. As Ventress charged at the Jedi hunter, he slashed the group to force a dust cloud up and then threw his weapon from behind the veil. The lightsaber spun in the air and returned to the Inquisitor, with Ventress dodging its blades. As the fight continued, the Inquisitor disarmed Ventress of Strata's lightsaber, sliced through a box the former bounty hunter threw at him, and then knocked Ventress back with a powerful blow, disarming her of her own lightsaber. As he approached the prone Ventress, he moved her lightsaber away from her with the Force. As he raised his lightsaber to strike Ventress down, Strata stabbed him in the back with his and Ventress's lightsabers, killing the Inquisitor.[1]
