A special model of behavioral collar was used by the Galactic Empire. The collar was kept on lurca hounds under the Empire's control, and could be used—via the external control of a droid—to influence the behavior and movements of the hounds.[1] A group of lurca hounds on the planet Wayland wore the collars[2] around 18 BBY,[3] which were controlled by the droid K-9X1. The hound Batcher was marked for termination after the clone Omega domesticated her. To save Batcher, Omega freed her from the collar's control and released her into the wild.[2]
Behind the scenes
Behavioral collars first appeared in "Confined,"[2] the first episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch's third season, which premiered on February 21, 2024.[4]

Star Wars: The Bad Batch — "Confined"
- ↑ Per the reasoning here, Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch takes place around 18 BBY. The tally marks made by Omega in The Bad Batch Season 3's first episode, "Confined," indicate the episode must take place at least twenty-one standard days following her capture as depicted in the Season 2 episode "Plan 99." According to
"Confined" Trivia Guide | Star Wars The Bad Batch on StarWars.com (backup link), Omega spends about 164 further days in captivity by the end of "Confined." As such, the events of Season 3 must begin around 18 BBY.
