"Lone Wolf: A Tale of Obi-Wan and Luke" is a short story written by Abel G. Peña and published by StarWars.com in 2015. It was attached to Peña's other lost story, SkyeWalkers: A Clone Wars Story. The story takes place during the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
Plot summary
In Chapter 1 of "Lone Wolf: A Tale of Obi-Wan and Luke," Abel G. Peña immerses us in an unforgiving atmosphere as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young apprentice, Luke Skywalker, face the fury of a rainstorm on the moon of Nar Shaddaa. The narrative begins with the image of a stranded Belbullab-22 under the relentless rain, providing an auditory and visual backdrop of the desolation of the environment. The veteran Obi-Wan Kenobi, now bearded and affected by exhaustion, attempts to console his young apprentice Luke Skywalker as they endure the storm. The storm seems so fierce that the sound of the rain hits the transparisteel of the stolen ship with a ferocity akin to a meteor shower on Polis Massa or a grenade shrapnel attack. Fatigue is reflected in the dark circles under Obi-Wan's eyes, not only due to the uncomfortable conditions of the ship but also because of the recent catastrophes that have affected the galaxy: the collapse of the Republic, the massacre of thousands of Jedi Knights, and the loss of his brother, Anakin Skywalker. The narrative intensifies with the revelation of a precious cargo in the rear of the ship: a newborn, barely a day old, protesting with all the strength of its tiny vocal cords.[3]
Continuity
Peña revealed that the story was inspired by the seminal anime Lone Wolf and Cub and was originally to be published in Star Wars Insider as part of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope's 30th anniversary.[4]
