Loit was a terrestrial astronomical object.[3] in the Loit system of the Cegul sector, which was part of both the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Western Reaches. It lay in grid square M-20 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

By around 160 BBY,[4] artifacts bearing the dead language Fruscti were found on Loit.[3] Around that year,[4] after Galactic Republic Senator Jakob Garn was killed on the planet Thelj, Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh searched his body and found a holo-emitter in which Garn had recorded a message in Fruscti. After hearing the message, Jedi Knight Indara asked Rwoh what language Garn had been speaking. She responded that it was likely Frusciti and told Indara that artifacts bearing the language had been found on Loit and at other locations, adding that although it was unknown what had happened to those who spoke the language, the artifacts were usually found in places considered holy by other cultures.[3]
