"By the time I joined the organization, after the defeat of the clone Emperor, a fair number of creatures had landed on the GSCE's list of Rare and Endangered Species. I sought to draw attention to their plight, working my way up the Society's ranks until I found myself in a position to effect change."
―From the journal of Ardis San Tekka[1]

The Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts maintained a list of Rare and Endangered Species. By the time that former hyperspace surveyor Ardis San Tekka join the organizaition[1] at some point after the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY,[2] a large number of species had ended up on the list due to their populations dwindling over time, leaving them at risk of extinction. Seeking to draw attention to the problems faced by the creatures on the list, San Tekka worked her way up through the ranks of the society until she was in a position to effect change, eventually attaining the rank of Director of Creature Cartography. She mentioned the list in the introduction to her journal.[1]

Behind the scenes

The list of Rare and Endangered Species was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars Bestiary, Vol. 1: Creatures of the Galaxy, which was written by S.T. Bende.[1]
