A laser cutter, also known as a cutting laser, was a type of laser used for cutting. A cutting laser was contained within the finger of the right arm of the IG-88 line of assassin droids created by Holowan Laboratories.
R2-series astromech droids were advertised as having laser cutters as standard equipment at no extra cost.[2] Inferno firefighting robos were equipped with laser cutters to cut through doors and flaming wreckage. GRZ-6B wrecker droids had a laser cutter built into its right palm.[3]
