Lan Fellov was a terrestrial planet orbiting the star Lan in the Lan system.[2] It was situated within the Hook Nebula of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and had one moon. As with all worlds of the Lan system, except for the planet Lan Barell, Lan Fellov was incapable of supporting life and featured a barren, rocky surface.[2]
The planet was extremely ore-rich, which led to its discovery by the Galactic Republic sometime[2] around 1300 BBY.[4] Soon thereafter, the Gaminne Group, Inc.—a Human mining conglomerate—purchased the system's mining rights from Lan Barell's natives, the insectoid Qieg, and began exploring it, shipping ore from underground mining colonies to many resource-poor systems. The Qieg and the Human colonists eventually formed a stable government, the Human-Qieg Guild, administrating the entire system. The system would eventually come under the control of the Galactic Empire, although the latter lacked an official presence there. By that time, mining operations continued on Lan Fellov.[2]
Behind the scenes
Lan Fellov was first mentioned in "Lan Barell," a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game source article published in the first installment of the West End Games magazine Star Wars Adventure Journal. The article was written by Paul Sudlow and released in February 1994.[5] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Lan system, and therefore the planet Lan Fellov, in grid square O-18.[3]
