For other uses, see Tion.

Lamilla Tion was an employee of the starship developer Cygnus Spaceworks and the design lead for the Abecederian line of executive shuttles that the company designed for Republic Sienar Systems and its successor, Sienar Fleet Systems. A sculptor fascinated with paper-folding, she incorporated the variable geometry landing system into each of her designs at great expense, not only to compress each ship's docked footprint, but also as an artistic acknowledgment of her spiritual beliefs. The output from the Cygnus's Mid Rim design studios shared many similar hallmark features such as elegant lines, tri-foil symmetry, and articulated wings that folded during landing.[1]

This included the Delta-class T-3c shuttle, which which started out as a Sienar Fleet Systems side project used as an explanatory canvas by the designers that was not intended to be implemented until Director Orson Krennic of the Galactic Empire became enamored with it, causing it to be put into production. She shared her name[1] with Lord Tion of the Galactic Empire.[2]

Behind the scenes

Lamilla Tion was first mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
