The Krath war droid was an ancient type of droid. When creating the ED-V8-series envoy droid, the Rseikharhl Droid Group built it around the chassis of a Krath war droid.[1] It shared its name with the Krath, an ancient group from the Deep Core.[2] The IG-series 100 MagnaGuard that was produced by Holowan Laboratories for the Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies, General Grievous, took inspiration from the Krath war droid.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Krath war droid was first mentioned in canon in Nexus of Power, a 2016 sourcebook published by Fantasy Flight Games for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game.[4] The droid originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, first appearing in the third issue of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - Dark Lords of the Sith, written by Tom Veitch and Kevin J. Anderson and published on December 13, 1994.[5]
