Klorri-clan battle shields were long teardrop-shaped shields used by the Wookiees of Kashyyyk both practically in battle as well as for ceremonial purposes.
Description
Klorri-clan battle shields could deflect blaster fire.
The shields were shaped like a teardrop and banded with bronzium. They were carved with intricate motifs that were both decorative and symbolic.[1] While they were primarily used during important rituals and ceremonies, the Wookiees did use them in battle as well.[2] The hardened wood was strong enough to withstand blaster fire.[3]
History
Klorri-clan battle shields could be dated back two thousand years before the formation of the Galactic Empire.[4] They were used by some Wookiees during the Battle of Kashyyyk, one of the final battles of the Clone Wars.[5] The antiques dealer, Luthen Rael, acquired one of these shields which was displayed in his gallery on Coruscant.[2]
