The Klorri-clan battle shield,[1] sometimes also simply called a Wookiee Staff,[3] was a traditional shield used by the Wookiees.[1] The shields were passed down through generations[4] and could be dated back to two thousand years before the formation of the Clone Wars and at that time were usually only displayed during rituals and ceremonies. The shields were carved symbolic motifs and decorated with green gemstones and were banded with bronzium.[1] At the Battle of Kashyyyk various Wookiee warriors used Klorri-clan battle shields in the fight against the battle droids of the Confederacy at the beach of Kachirho.[2] The Wookiee Chewbacca also wielded one such shield as part of the battle.[5]
