Kiran Shah (born September 28, 1956, in Kenya)[2] is a 4′2″ actor and stuntman who played the Ewok Brethupp and many stunt Ewoks, and the tortured power droid in Return of the Jedi,[3] after originally being only called on for the fitting of the original Ewok costumes.[2] He returned to Star Wars in the 2010s. He played Infrablue Zedbeddy Coggins, Pru Sweevant,[3] and Teedo[4] in The Force Awakens; and Neepers Panpick in The Last Jedi.[5] For Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Shah worked as a creature and droid performer[3] and played the Blutopian Oolin Musters,[6] and played Karjj in Solo: A Star Wars Story.[7][3] In The Rise of Skywalker, he plays the Aki-Aki Nambi Ghima, the mechanic Yipsit[8] and a GNK-series power droid.[3] Shah worked as a puppeteer on the Disney+ television series Star Wars: Andor, where he portrayed the character Granik[9] and a sleeping Blutopian.[3]
Since 2003, Shah has held the Guinness World Record as the "shortest professional stuntman currently working in film."[10] Shah's many film credits include Raiders of the Lost Ark,[9] The Dark Crystal, the villainous dwarf Ginarrbrik in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy (where he was Elijah Wood's scale double as Frodo Baggins).[2]
