Kerrithrarr

Kerrithrarr was a Wookiee from^[1] the Mid Rim^[2] planet Kashyyyk who served as the representative of their species during the Imperial Era.^[1] Between 4 ABY and 5 ABY,^[3] Kerrithrarr contacted Princess Leia Organa of the New Republic via hologram to inform her that they had last heard from her husband Han Solo and the Wookiee Chewbacca when the two were near Ashmead's Lock^[1] prison on Kashyyyk,^[2] which left Organa questioning where the two were. After Kerrithrarr stated they wished they knew more about Solo's and Chewbacca's location, the princess stated her wish that the Republic could do more to free Kashyyyk from the Empire. As their communication finished, Organa promised Kerrithrarr that the Republic would do do more to help the Wookiees.^[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, Kerrithrarr appeared in a hologram in the first issue of the 2024 comic limited series Star Wars: Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege. The issue was written by Alex Segura, illustrated by Stefano Raffaele, and published by Marvel Comics^[1] on November 20, 2024.^[4] Kerrithrarr originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where he first appeared in X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble, a 1996 novel written by Michael A. Stackpole as the second installment in the Star Wars: X-Wing novel series.^[5]
