Kaminoan Armorsmiths Ltd. was a company that created the armor used by the clone troopers in the army of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY. Their products included Phase I clone trooper armor, Phase II clone trooper armor, and Katarn-class commando armor. Their subsidiary Kaminoan Weaponsmiths was a small weapons manufacturer that produced the Mk I Saberdart.

Kaminoan Armorsmiths Ltd. was a company that manufactured the armor used by the clone troopers in the army of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems,[2] which lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY.[3] The company had a subsidiary, Kaminoan Weaponsmiths, that was a small weapons manufacturer based on the planet Kamino. Kaminoan Weaponsmiths' products were produced in small numbers by highly trained craftsmen and were sold in limited runs. They were relatively unknown but had a reputation for high-quality products among their clientele, which included bounty hunters and professional killers.[1]
Kaminoan Armorsmiths' products included Phase I clone trooper armor, which was worn by the first series of clone troopers. The Kaminoan designers of Phase I armor were inspired by the armor wore by the clone's genetic source, Jango Fett, including his helmet's T-shaped visor. As Kaminoans were inexperienced with human ergonomics, Phase I armor was unintentionally built to be uncomfortable to sit in. The flaw was fixed in subsequent generations of the armor. Kaminoan Armorsmiths later manufactured Phase II clone trooper armor, which was more customizable and featured more equipment. Specialized variants of Phase II armor for particular environments or mission requirements were also created. The company also manufactured Katarn-class commando armor, which was used by the army's special forces units.[2]
Kaminoan Weaponsmiths produced the Mk I Saberdart, which was one of their most popular products. The Saberdart was a tiny, roughly triangular dart made of durasteel alloy and could be used to deliver poisons. Saberdart launchers had lightweight barrels and fired the darts via compressed gas. They could be built into gloves, armor, other weapons, and everyday gear such as glowrods and datapads.[1]

In the current Star Wars canon, Kaminoan Armorsmiths Ltd. was first mentioned in Endless Vigil, a supplement for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game written by Tim Huckelberry and James M. Spahn and released by Fantasy Flight Games in 2016.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Kaminoan Armorsmiths Ltd. was first mentioned in the 2004 reference book The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, by W. Haden Blackman.[4]
