- "It is not pessimism to know something is true, and my truth is that nothing changes down here in the dust. But up there? Up there you Jedi change things."
- ―Kala addresses Gella Nattai
Kala was a human female E'roni who lived in U'ronoh village on the planet E'ronoh during the High Republic Era. She talked with members of the Path of the Open Hand Force religion when they visited the world.[1]
In 382 BBY,[2] Kala overheard U'ronoh Marshal Iana Percei discussing the Jedi's role with Jedi Knight Gella Nattai and interrupted, criticizing the idea of fighting for peace. Nattai was taken aback, and Percei apologized for her pessimism, but Kala continued, accusing the Jedi of "changing things." A confused Nattai asked what she meant, but Percei scolded Kala, and at Nattai's request for clarification, she sighed, explaining that Kala was repeating what Path members from the Dalnan system had said. Kala left Nattai with a lingering feeling of worry. She had startled eyes, hair pulled into a tight braid, and a pinched, bitter face.[1]
