Kaifo was an astronomical object[2] in the Kaifo system of the Colonies[1] that was under the control of the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. Despite the location being considered peaceful it saw an eighteen percent increase in conviction numbers[2] from 5 BBY[3] to 3 BBY as a result of the Public Order Resentencing Directive. In 3 BBY, senator Mon Mothma tried to use the conviction numbers to presuade a fellow senator to vote with her in challenging a recent extension to the P.O.R.D.[2]
