KA74 blaster rifle

The KA74 blaster rifle was a blaster rifle used by Cobb Vanth and later by Jo. The rifle was light but fired with powerful blasts, which were a good match for quick-drawing.

Description

Manufactured by BlasTech Industries, the KA74 blaster rifle was a heavy blaster rifle of the KA74 model. The weapon had a light heft. Nonetheless, the blaster also fired powerful shots. The combination of its light weight design and strong fire-power resulted in a blaster rifle that was useful as a quick-draw weapon, which made it ideal for sheriffs like Cobb Vanth.^[1]

History

As marshal and mayor of the settlement Freetown on the planet Tatooine, the lawman Cobb Vanth made use of a KA74, which became the man's signature weapon,^[1] though he also owned and wielded a HF-94 heavy blaster pistol.^[2] Vanth once wielded his rifle against Tusken Raiders.^[1] He later used the blaster alongside the Tuskens in the effort to destroy a massive leviathan krayt dragon^[3] in 9 ABY.^[5]

Another resident of Freetown, Jo, made use of Vanth's blaster rifle during the Battle of Mos Espa, in which a Freetown volunteer militia allied with the Fett gotra in order to repel the Pyke Syndicate from Tatooine.^[4]
