- "I need you to lead a garrison."
- ―Din Djarin, to Cobb Vanth
The Freetown garrison was a force of volunteers raised from the town of Freetown during the gang war between the Pyke Syndicate and the Fett gotra.
History
- "Where'd all these sand scurriers come from?"
"We're here to save the tails of some city rats." - ―Skad and Jo
The garrison fights the Pykes alongside Fett's gotra.
Following Marshall Cobb Vanth's run-in with several Pyke couriers, Vanth and his deputy Scott were approached by the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin. Djarin, remembering how Freetown's citizens were good fighters against the Krayt dragon,[4] asked Vanth to organize the citizens into a garrison to help Daimyo Boba Fett and his Gotra in fighting the Pykes. Vanth was unsure if the citizens would help the Gotra in fighting the Pykes at Mos Espa. After Djarin left, Vanth considered his offer. However, Vanth and Scott were gunned down by Cad Bane under the orders of the Pykes. Bane informed them that Tatooine belonged to the Pykes.[1]
Despite Vanth being out of action, Freetown's citizens formed a small garrison. Using a landspeeder, the garrison assisted Fett, Djarin, Krrsantan, and the Mods in pushing the Pykes back in Mos Espa.[2]
